It started with a smile

And eyes as empty as my own

With a "for you Id walk a mile"

But now we both have grown



Some years later here we stand

With more then we had bargained for

Everyday more of a demand

Despair, yes theres a whole lot more



With eyes of wicked brown and green

And a smile that tells more then tales

Showing you places youve never seen

And giving you wings that never fail



This person has died a thousand ways

But never once was for himself

Not until his most recent days

When he managed to kill everyone else



With the splash of a million tears

And the screaming of a broken shell

Building this creation took us both years

Is this creation a well disguised hell?



There were times of smiles with pain

But the light is your eyes never fades

Until i lay it at your feet slain

Can you hear the shattering of promises made?



In truth i know your fires still ablaze

And the light within is still aglow

This is just a soul defeating phase

But in the end our truths will show



Your liks a thousand paint contorted and smeared

On a never ending canvas of wishes and dreams

So enormous its less loved then feared

But also as small as the thread at the seams



Its like one day your black and the next your white

Everydays the same but full of change

Your the shadow when nothing blocking the light

Your the deck of cards thats twice daily re-arranged



But in the end you were always the same

In truth we both were always there

Its me and you fighting everyone else in this game

With the sorrow and ending destruction weve beared



Can never really cause my eyes to not see

That somewhere in you always my soul's still alive

And know that he sees theres always gonna be me

To help him face the fire and still survive
