Through the Jesus Prayer, and to the Theotokos fervent prayers,
I, the least of Orthodox Christians, can direct
my cry to Their Thrones of Mercy; and this need
They will not sneer at, nor harshly judge, nor reject.
To Saints Alexei and Januarius, I also pray
for relief from this world---which is having its way
of medical affliction with me and its imposition of pain.
In faith, I know that this plea will not meet, there, with disdain.
This is a testimony that, I dearly hope, each of these poems declares.
