"Everyone, these days (apparently), forgets
"that all power was to devolve upon the people's Soviets.
"But any observant tourist soon learns very well: when in
"Russia, one follows---to the letter!---the orders of 'Comrade' Lenin.
"He happens to be out of town. right now, doing 'the will of the people'
"(immobilized and gasping, like fish caught in Lenin's nets):
"today, he says, 'their will' is to topple another Orthodox Church's steeple.
"Then Lenin will order transformative work (with him, the same old story):
"he will turn that sacred building to a storage depot, or public lavatory."
