Paper wings.
They are so fragile, but such a beautiful sight...
They glitter and shine in the early morn's first light.
She stretches and yawns and prepares for the day,
Such a big world for such a young, little, fae.
She looks at her self in her long white mirror,
Then turns to the side to see herself clearer.
She is quite beautiful, very tall and thin,
Brown eyes and chestnut hair, and the palest of skin.
Her wings are of deep blue, like midnight's first break,
Or the stunning colour of an untouched lake.
They glide on crisp air as she sails through the night,
But tears fall, she takes no joy in this flight.
She's been abandoned by love, her heart is shattered.
I tried to help, but nothing else mattered.
Left alone in the cold to shiver and shake,
Hearing her cries makes my heart ache...
I'll provide you shelter, my dear little fae...
I'll keep you safe and loved, and in my heart you shall stay.
