When the Star Wars prequel was heard , it would be about two years old. I could not understand by then what the fans (and the general public) might have felt about such news, but I felt it would be something like what I felt when I first heard the name iptorrents "Blade Runner 2049" : joy, excitement and , of course, fear. Fear because loving does not always mean doing good to what you appreciate, fear because, sometimes, loving can be more selfish than altruistic. Paul WS Anderson claims that the key to Resident Evil films is his love of the saga , but that does not imply knowing what makes it unique. Returning to Star Wars, a name does not guarantee success even if you walk the long mile to offer something different. Lucas wanted to expand his universe and, in the process, mutated its essence by turning a futuristic western with medieval knights into a second-class political thriller . Loving, though indispensable, is never enough, and less so if nostalgia motivates your actions, but very occasionally occur "miracles", small flashes of light in a sea of darkness. And one of them is called Blade Runner 2049.

The first frame of the film is the first plane of an eye. One might already think that what comes next is a nostalgic rehash as Trainspotting 2 , but then the scene shows something completely different. Anyone could assume that the presence of Harrison Ford does not go beyond the fan service , to go to the easy, but if before talked about love, now I speak of respect. This is something that everyone has already said: Dennis Villeneuve understands that he was and is Blade Runner, and unlike so many others, goes to the essence of the original work, to the concepts that define it, and internalize its universeinstead of just copying names from here and there. The references to the past are just to make you see that we are in the same place but in another time and the role of Deckart in the film links with his speech, without neglecting the affection and nostalgia.

 But let's get back to the Blade Runner universe . If the original film gave small brushstrokes of its world (center Los Angeles in particular), the Canadian broadens the radar to other zones and does not spare in expenses or time to recreate in the experience sublime so characteristic of the science fiction , which for endless research work. The key, however, is that our director understands the values of silence and subtlety. Moreover, considering his filmography, he is the ideal filmmaker for this work and does not have to go very far: in The arrivalthere is that ip torrents transcendental tone characteristic of Dick's work and of classic science fiction; his preciousness for the image, his wonderful visual narration Compare the first bars of Sicario with the beginning of Blade Runner 2049 and you will know what I mean.

It may be the fault of the excessively slow pace of the play, especially in the early stages, where it can become somewhat redundant. Perhaps because of this I feel that the message is diluted more than normal, but at the end of the day, the great virtues of this work clear the clouds of my mind. Blade Runner 2049 takes advantage of its condition of reboot sequel , in an almost metafiction exercise, to reflect on the past and the memories . This is what I ask of the return of the classics: respect and love for their predecessor, to know that they intended more than to absorb without a lore that is not understood. I am glad to see that, to this day, my skepticism can be cured at last.
