Amends
You'll never know the pain you made me feel.
Each word you spoke pierced deep within my heart.
My tears and wounds you forced me to conceal.
I died each day, as we grew more apart.
You swore you'd never leave but now you're gone.
Betrayed, you left a void within my soul.
It felt as if the sun would never dawn.
No words there were that ever could consol.
Each day I sit and watch you pass me by.
I know that I cannot get up to speak.
For fear, from out, within me now resides
And after you I know I cannot seek.
I miss the way it was when we were friends.
One day we'll find a way to make amends.
