everyone says I sparkle
everyone thinks I shine
all the attention thrown this way
yet, none of it is mine
hidden behind a fantasy
of everything I've always wanted to be
hidden in the depths of reality
caught up in the story that is me
not quite a tale of horror
not quite the fairy tale, too
leaves you with an empty feeling
story to hit the rail to
either way, i've lost myself
& what you see isn't what you get
because who I really am..
