Can you really fall in love,
If it was never true?
And think that it was right,
Though you never really knew?
Can you really fall in love,
And later change your mind?
And realize there’s another heart,
Somewhere, for you to find?
Can you really fall in love,
If you’re not happy, in the end?
And left with broken pieces,
Of a sore heart that needs to mend?
Can you really fall in love.
If somewhere you know that it’s not right?
And to keep these thoughts away,
You know that it’s a fight
Can you really fall in love,
With the one who’s not for you?
Thinking that you are happy,
Though you’re sure that it’s not true?
Can you really fall in love,
And find out you were wrong?
And to get the truth out,
It takes you way too long?
Can you really fall in love,
If all it brings is tears?
And you are so confused,
And hope that an end nears?
Can you really fall in love,
And later find it was a lie?
And then when you look back,
You see it’s worth a try?
