You used to say, “I love you”,

And I’d say it back to you

And I would feel good inside,

Thinking that it was true



I used to smile and be happy,

When you said those words to me,

Because I thought that I loved you,

And I knew that you loved me



You used to look me in the eyes,

And I’d get shivers everywhere,

But everything is different now,

Since I hardly even care



When you say, “I love you”,

It makes me want to cry,

Because I hate to say it back,

When I realized it’s a lie
