What is a true sin? There are 7 deadly sins by most accounts.



Lust

– To lust is considered a sin. But where does lust start and end? To lust over an idol would be a sin, yet it is used by the media and the world for products. I for one lust over most things like a person. Because I am Human, I know I will lust over idols, items and other such things. One of my “own sins” is to own a Dodge Viper. Some of my friends say I lust over anything Asian. That can be true but also I don’t lust over everything Asian, just most things.



Gluttony

– Gluttony is what exactly? Is it a person who eats and eats because they are compelled to? To be a Glutton is more then just eating. A Glutton can be a person who hordes money (wealth), power, and food. I will say that I am a Glutton for German, Texan styled BBQ’s and Asian foods. I can never get enough of them. But as a person I know I can never eat more then my fill. So am I truly a Glutton?



Envy

– Envy, how to describe this one? To envy a person or idol, I know in my youth I envied several boys and men of different degrees in one fashion or anther. I did envy one of my friends who seemed to have money to do everything and get everything he wanted. I envied men of power because of there power that they could control, Stalin was a man of power that I envied, I didn’t care about his personal agendas it’s just the power the man was able to show to others in his person.



Pride

– Pride is a sin a person will never truly get rid of. For every man or woman will have pride in there family, friends, religion, objects, and self. My sense of pride is my daughter; she is one of the many things I have pride in. So is this truly a sin? I have pride in my work, is this sin?



Wrath

– Wrath is something that can be closely related to Envy and Pride. I know if something ever happened to my family I would become very wrathful and want vengeance and retribution. I know in my youth I was a wrathful person when people hurt my friends, I would personally want to hurt them in return. So I guess I have this sin as well.



Sloth

– Sloth, the ability to be slow? Or slow to react to a resin, or purposefully be slow to hinder a person or place. I know as a human I have witnessed many people who would be considered to have had the Sin of Sloth. Yet I still wonder about this sin for its design and affect on people.



Greed

– Greed is something that no person will ever truly be without. For with out a portion of greed our world wouldn’t strive forward to what it is today. For if it was not greed that drove a man to accumulate land, wealth, and power, then where would our Earth be now? For every human has a greed that they feel that they must fulfill, yet this is so close to lust it is hard to tell the two apart at times. I know that by the world’s standards I am a greedy person who wants money. Yet without Money or any form of currency how would I live?
