Silhouette

A silhouette against the window

Flickering candlelight

Dancing delicately around the room

A hand touches her cheek

He stands behind her

A mystery to the eye

She presses her face against his hand

Soft

Strong

Gentle

Gracious

She touches it daintily

Never turning around to see his face

She knows its him

His other hand slips around her waist

Pulling her closer to him

She feels his body

Warm and safe

Peace is what runs through her

She closes her eyes

Breathing in his every existence

She feels happy

Like nothing can go wrong

She opens her eyes

Lets go of his hand

Walks to the window and pulls the shades closed

She smiles to her self as she turns to face him

But the smile fades

As she stairs into the room

Empty and hollow

Just the flicker of the candlelight

Dancing delicately around the room

Only her silhouette against the window

i know i usually pull out my favorite lines to quote and comment on them, but there really wasnt a dull line in this. all i can say is it built up beautifully, till the last line hits you like bricks.

I wonder if that is what you have felt about me being gone. If so, then know that such disappointment and sorrow is not yours alone. At least you have the ability to change such a fate.
