Darkness fades across the once bight and shinning wonderland
He walks slowly, pulling the shadows behind him.
As he walks his arms never sway,
His body is stiff and brittle.
Sluggishly he slows to a stop.
His eyes cold and unforgiving
As he turns his head and looks through my soul.
His eyes burn
His mouth straight and intense
I feel the shadows
Once following him,
Creeping over my whole body
Incasing me in their black velvet.
I start to feel as if I can’t breathe.
He stares at me,
It seems forever.
I cant take the pressure of the shadows much longer
They squeeze me tighter
I can barely see him now
His face
His eyes
All I see is his eyes
As my knees start to buckle
It stops…
The darkness reseeds
Opening my air ways once again
I see his face more clearly now.
His eyes don’t seem so cold
As I stare into them.
I open my mouth to speak
Nothing comes out.
I watch his mouth carefully
As he starts to move.
The straight line eases into a smile.
It spreads across is face
Lighting everything around him
The darkness is almost gone,
Just another shadow in the distance
His body relaxes and he walks towards me.
His arms swing freely and he walks with confidence in his step
I smile as he starts to jog
Getting closer and closer
I out stretch my arms to reach him
Hes so close now.
His hands reach mine
I feel his warm touch
And with that hes gone
Vanishing in front of me
My smile stops as I stare blankly into the air
The snow is crisp and white.
Its all I see.
The shadows in the distance start to come back.
In front of them lead a form.
Its him again.
It happens again
The exact same thing.
Right as I touch him he’s gone
Vanishing into thin air.
The shadows start to come back,
Without having to watch again
I turn and run
I can’t stand to repeat it again
I was so close,
but yet so far.
