Heart broken and better for it, now that you are gone.
It took so long to learn the truth, now I can move along.
You didn’t tell me because you cared? And yet you didn’t think twice.
About the love we once shared, but now hear my advise.
I’m telling you, as a friend, just cut your loss and run.
Because when your standing in my shoes, it won’t be any fun.
Go find someone who cares as much, as the man you’ll some day miss.
Then let go, don’t be scared, to trust him with your every wish.
If he loves you, for who you are, he’ll never break your trust.
And next time when things get a little tough, please don’t give into lust.
For that road leads down to regret, a dark and lonesome path.
A place where hearts are heavy, smiles don’t exist, and there’s plenty of self wrath.
Instead take the road that once again, joins paths with the one you love.
Just take your time and work things out, before you give him a lasting shove.
There is nothing that a little time can’t mend, if you will just sit back and wait.
So next time if you think love was true, don’t be so quick to hate.
Now with my heart broken, but doing better, my path swings away from yours.
Maybe someday again, our paths will cross, and we’ll both have open doors.
