Your love isn't fair

Down by the river,

just past the rocks

that the violent stream caresses...so fair as it flocks

to the cracks in the ground

that had swallowed my heart.

...you said that you had listened

to my sorrow in the ether, up by the mound,

and you followed its subtlest sound

and shone your gentle light

giving life

to a creature of the dark,

But you took it away, before I could make sense

So I withdraw deeper

into non-existence.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Please comment if you so choose :). I wrote this about a girl called Marianne who showed me love and then took it away, showing me a wonderful place, and then leaving me to die in the damp and dank place that is my loneliness
