The Worst Kind of Loneliness

Your silence almost deafening,

accompanied by my unheard tears.

Everytime I try to reach for you,

I choke on my muted fears.

I try to dodge the shadows,

in this house that's filled with light.

I swallow my pride, and hold my tongue,

anything not to fight.

An open mouth spills no words,

and my tears refuse to fall.

To miss the one right next to you,

is the worst loneliness of all.

I make two simple wishes,

and both would bring me peace;

To find a way to reach you,

or for my caring to simply cease.
