It's the thing that everyone craves,
The thing many spend their entire lives searching for
And only a few ever find.
The hunt for a treasure untouchable,
Too precious, too missed.
Saddest of all, so many don't even know
What it is they are missing,
Don't even know they're incomplete,
Until those moments of clutching panic
Make them feel the deep aching,
And desire to be free from despairs bottomless pit.
Images flash through the mind,
Of a dying rose, an autumn's end.
Sounds of a haunting laughter,
Mocking, echoing, jeering at those who have not.
Confusion seizes all and a moment,
Blinding like lightning, warm like fire
Shows the cloudless sky sparkling with sun's embrace.
