ONCE UPON A ROSE
Once upon a rose was
planted. A trellis was erected
a safe arbor for her to cling to.
As she grew opening
her petals, becoming a lovely
lady, looked upon for her beauty.
One day someone decided
to transplant her into their
garden, they picked at her petals
one by one they fell
to the ground, coming ever near
to her heart, sadly she was exposed.
Finially the word came
she would be returning to her
garden, hurt and lonely, once again
she clung to her trellis,
today her petals remain closed
refusing to open, once upon a rose.
