When I looked upon your tiny
tiny, delicate face, pressed my
lips gently against a soft
cheek. Tickled your chin, you
looked up and smiled.
At that moment I knew God had
stormed heaven, seeking for me
one of his most precious rose-
buds.
As weeks turned to months,
and months to years, my first
impression of you was correct.
Do you remember that terrible
accident so long ago? Bodies
thrown upon the highway,
blood flowing freely. The smell
of death was everywhere. Out
of all that chaos, you stood up
and walked away.
The only survivor.
I know in my heart of hearts,
God looked down, and saw you
in distress. Thinking, I must protect
my rosebud from harm.
Suddenly the phone rang, my heart
began to quiver. Then a voice
quietly said, "Leah is safe."
I am eternally grateful for you.
You have become my mainstay,
my daughter , my first love.

Wonderfully worded.
This is a wonderfully worded poem. It expresses well your deep love for your daughter. I am so glad that she survived.
Smile.. it is the cheapest facelift.
Chillingly Beautiful
You have put into words a miracle of God. Bless you and your daughter.

the only survivor.
Hi Poet 610, Thanks so much for reading my poem. This is a true
story. It happened to my daughter when she was a teenager.
She was thrown from the car before it was hit in a head on
collision. It was a miracle she survived. again thanks for reading. hbw
wow
i couldn't even compare to how you felt. when i was born with my heart problem and had a heart attack at 2 months old didn't mean much to me but i have a little guy now. just turn 3 years old, after he was about 3 years old i asked my mom how did you do it.
You also must be a very strong woman, but i can tell that by your writing :)
