The Night The World Went Out

The sky cracks, simmers out

Electricity dies

The lonely tap of rain

No sound is around

Thousands beating a timeless tune

Timeless to some

Soundless to many

Faceless faces

Darkest places

back to bare

Back to primitive

Man once again is one with dark

Dark meets man

Man greets dark

And the silence is as thick as the rain

Its dull and cold

Lifeless like some clouded dreams

with the world in black and white

More shades of gray than we have ever seen

The world lacks detail

The world longs for confusion

A darkened image

Closest to nothing ever seen

feel no fear

but we are missing something

this night the world went out...

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this when the power went off one night and all was dark, and it was off for a long time. Basically how the world was suddenly primitive again and how we can truly *see* more in a state of simple solitude.
