A coat of darkness she does wear
With flaming locks of auburn hair
A complexion as pale and beautiful as the moon
Smiles that make your heart true swoon
Ocean eyes of piercing blue
Pearly whites, just for you
From the highest room
In the mansion over the moor
There she awaits her groom
Armour and a shining horse
A beauty undefined
In that house she is confined
But why you ask
Well she did a terrible task
Not one, or two
But a town of men
Are forever asleep
And it happened because of her back then
Poisonous sleep
She did call
And for what?
Nothing at all
Or that’s the official story
The one that avoids the gory
To tell the sorry tale
You must look under the vail
Not a physical vail
The vail of life
Not the kind of a future wife
Mary, up in the house
Lived with her father
And her fathers spouse
Her mum had died
Because of the towns folk
Did Mary cry
So revenge she did suggest
And upon her awful quest
The town suffered a terrible fate
But the deed is done, and now it’s too late
So the one with auburn hair
The coat of darkness, teeth beyond compare
Inside may be truly dark
But actually that’s just the start
