HOW REAL DO YOU WANT YOUR TV?

OK... lets stop already with the reality shows

too much for me to keep up with

now they are saying in the paper

that Tim McVeigh wants to have a public execution

now really...... do we really want to give him that much power

he has done enough.... killing all those people was enough

he will be remembered with out that

I think that we should just do what ever we need to

then put it behind us and try to make this world a better place

let's not dwell on the tragedy of that horrible day

I can remember the news breaking the program I was watching

the horror of that scene will forever be imbedded into my mind

I for one don't care to see this man die.....

I just don't think he needs that much air time

no reason for him to make the news again

Reality tv shows are bad enough (and are a pretty skewed version of any 'reality' I've ever come across) but you're right, no way should he get a public execution. If the death penalty is meant to be a punishment, then why give it to him the way he wants it? It's absurd. Thanks for making the point.

This is something to think about. Millions would have watched the Tim McVeigh show if it had been on the air. Sometimes I feel lucky that I never watch TV. Thanks for a thought-provoking poem.

This was an interesting subject for a poem, I must say. It is ironic. I am probably the only one around here that doesn't watch those shows. If I want reality, I will go outside & take a walk.... Luv Amy

I agree with you on this poem. I cant stand reality tv but because the writers are thinking on going on strike they are trying as hard as they can to give us something to watch. I got a great idea. Instead of watching reality tv. we emjoy life and our own reality.

You know Renee, I feel exactly the same way!!! Why should that man be granted anything!!! Thank you for again writing and bringing these types of posts that definately raise issues!! Michelle

Oh, girl. This is yet another of those issues I have a problem with, too. This man KILLED people to get attention. Children lost their Mothers and Fathers and Men and Women lost their children. There was a daycare in the building, for goodness sakes. This man did this act to gain attention, and now he will and has more attention than he could have ever dreamed. He is a sick bastard that deserves to die the most horrible of deaths with only the members of the families that lost a loved one watching. I understand them wanting to see his demise, feel some vindication for their loss, but the whole world? I think that it is a ridiculous notion, and the work of the devil himself. Great piece, sparked some fire in this little girl.

Way to go Renee!! This man does not deserve the air time! That is an insult to the relatives, friends, etc, of the victims! Let it rest! Nicely done!! Of course, it's possible that a few of those people may wish to watch him fry as an end to their means! And the TV stations would air it just to get their morbid, precious ratings boosted! Anyway, great writing!!
