Here I am now, all alone
No one to sit beside me.
I now wait for the day to end
And darkness to roll in.
Always there, just when I need it.
Doesn’t betray, or leave my side
Or fill me with contempt to the brim.
A massive bubble, in the light hours.
Here I am, chilled to the bone
Light leaves its last debris.
Over the horizon, the sun starts to bend,
Washing away the last of its sin,
Find a mountain place for it to fit.
In the shadows I know confide,
And the darkness starts to dim,
To spread its shadow towers.
Here we are, minds at the throne,
They beg to be set free.
A dream that rips but cannot mend,
But on our face places a grin.
We scream and roll and our teeth grit,
As our sweet time we bide,
And listen to the nights sweet hymn.
Our courageous hearts now cowers.
Here I am, heart set in stone
As we awake, our minds set shakily
The darkness is always a friend,
Deep inside all women and men.
The shadow recedes into its kit
Of nightmares and hopes Shanghaied.
The light now full, and our life is but a sim.
But darkness is forever ours.
