Across The Room

Across the room I’ve eyed my prey

Fixating with an everlasting gaze

Nothing removing an once of concentration

Staring, full of comtemplation

Curious to the contains of her mind

Will she like me or is love blind

As she chats away with classmates

I can see the lips punctuating

Forming so precise

As unforgiving as ice

One word determines my fate

A “yes” will lead to a date

Things are a blur around me

Nothing else matters so much as this

As she approach I prepare

All my feelings I shield

So as none to detect

I become the friend, not the lover

Ever closing in on me is she

With every passing moment and breath I take

Nothing can prepare for the fear I must shake

The fear of discovery this is impending doom

Here it loom ever growing in strength

Its presence I forsake

It takes over… I brush it aside

For it I will never abide

A smile penetrates her lips

So beautiful all the way to the tips

As I take in the view I sit in awe

Wishing I could be with her every second of our lives

To have and to hold and never be told

Or become cold knowing that the love is gone

I will be like a blanket, keeping all the love in

She can be the light, focusing it unto each other

All of this as I wait and watch

In the corner by the clock

All I hear is a tick-tock, time passing

For I wish to stop time, at a time when our love be true

The love so strong it must… it has to be true

There is no other explaination

For I can only hope she feels the same

When the time comes to revel

For at this time, a crossroads in my life

Could this be my future wife?

All depending on one word

To crush or sustain my life

Such is a great power

One she deserves

When the time is right

Hopefully a soon night

For I cannot bear to hold on any longer

To do would be an impossibility

For now I sit and wait

Wondering how it will turn out

I dream every nigh that she will love me

Even for a mere moment would be nice

It would let me know I’m lovable

And not to grow old so soon

For the belief that love will slow time

So as to enjoy life to the fullest extent

Trying to think what’s in her head

For now though I’m off to bed

Goodnight my love

My sweet moonlight

I’ll see you tomorrow

For I cannot wait a fortnight
