As I pass this envelope
I hope that you know
My heart’s filled in this poem
That I am intending to show
I’ve known you now
5 years in the making
And been there for you
In the paths you are taking
Whether you took it
Or bothered with it not
I and my family supported you
And your help I’ve not forgot
I remember many sad times
I had no where to turn
And looked to you for help
And from you I did learn
We pick on each other like
True siblings of birth
And you’re quick to draw
Harsh words of worth
But I’ve confided within you
Then you’ve done so back with me
And that kind of trust
Is what assures me confidently
You may not accept
My calling you of “Big Brother”
But you’ve been there for me
So a title I think no other
Not only a role model
Have you been in my light
But also a teacher
Not just a sub by invite
One of the biggest things
I have to thank you for
Is addressing me as “Hisako”
Instead of “Nani” anymore
No matter what may happen
No matter what you may say
I’ll forever remember these times
And many special thanks I convey
