poem_169_My_Silhouette_Soldier

I’ll wait for him to come home

Though that, I don’t know when

I’ll be here in a loving worry

Because we may never be together again

I barely even know him

But our bond’s so strong

Unlike anyone’s I’ve ever met

While my feelings grow just as long

I cherish this man’s life

Despite our limited moments shared

I feel as if we’ve grown together

And I am highly unprepared

Although there may have been

A few moments of persistent cries

Of how he feels for me; I deny

I end up believing these wonderful lies

To bear such feelings

For someone so quick

Has placed me in worry

Almost making me sick

If he has this capability

To create such rapid capacity

Who’s to say he won’t hurt me

Using the same kind of tenacity

But it may be the last

I see my brave fighter

As he puts his life on the line

I hold my breath tighter

So I watch him march on

Responding to his country’s beckon

After talkin’ not even five minutes

And I cherish every last second

I’ll stand refraining tears

My silhouette soldier

Until you come back to me

As you go on a little bit bolder
