poem_187_Infinite_Love

In the years I’ve known him

Through all our troubles

Even with petty fights

Our love only doubles

Months may go by

Or even years lately

Then we cross minds

Love returning innately

The dormant feelings

Remembering when

We pick up the phones

To talk once again

No matter new flames

Of a guy with me

Or his new girl

We painstakingly see

How we can’t let go

Of our heated past

It haunts us again

In greater contrast

We always think

It’ll die out some day

During our moments

Where we stay at bay

But every time in

Moving on we try

We find more reasons

To never say goodbye

But in need of physical touch

The distance does prevail

Always getting the best of us

And we continue the trail

More sighs are released

Heavier hearts set

As we share a short kiss

Giving into love’s debt

Until opportunity comes

Where distance may cease

We play this game

And love can only increase

Building and building

No one new going above

And our hearts long more

For our infinite love
