In Remembrance to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps; to all our War Veterans and Comrades-in-Arms, past and present:
You went to war, not of our own.
To protect other humankind;
To preserve their freedom
far away from our homeland.
You beat atrocities;
You beat animosities
of their enemies with callous core.
Your names are etched with great honour;
Your valour brought pride to our shore.
You went to war, armed with faith and hope
and love for those you left behind:
Dear parents, wives, and children;
Tears for kins and all your friends.
Your lives were laid on the altar
Made of petrifying sacrifice;
Melting in stinging, burning heat of sun,
Gnawing in the drenching and freezing zones
in fragmenting bodies; uncalcifying bones.
Many didn't make it home alive.
They lift their breath - for service
in the battlefield of hate.
Their loss made waves of sorrow;
This nation mourns forever, every morrow.
For those who came back with cross of victory;
Tears of joys were overshadowed in glory;
Your fierce spirit inspires our generation strong;
You are well remembered, Heroes in our throng!
