A Dark Night

Folder:
Nature/Environment

The night gathers cluster of stars

To redeem darkness with copious light;

Pale moon in shadow looms

He’s weary beneath the gloom.

Before the afterglow claims the sky

The sign of tempest hovers high

Thunderclaps and lightning clash

A trembling rock shakes the mass.

Rain ensues and floods the gate

Deluge is river in the streets

All drainage blocks and overflows

And flotsams clutter by.

The storm subsides

Leaving debris along the roadsides

Now the night turns to stillness

And stars blink above the cloud of mist.

Author's Notes/Comments:

~I started writing this sometime in autumn, maybe April. It was one of those unwitty nights, when the half-moon was overshadowed by dark clouds. Yet, in some parts of this place, stars were gathering as if lighting my way home from a late work. Earlier on, the weather was just as mad as hell, giving away its unpredictable mood.~
