Catching a glimpse of you in my memory drill
Your presence with us was not much of a frill
Contemplating hard as flashbacks in my brain
Are scenes with you in a military bin.
We rarely gathered as a family, doing things
Like picnics or dining in a fancy restaurant
Walking to church in hundred miles
That place of worship was far away on a hill.
You took care of us to make up your absence
Overseeing our nap so we grow quick and tall.
The swing you made under the acacia tree.
Was fun for everyone in our afternoon play.
As time moved on; we were everywhere
Each place we lived would make us take a dare
With memories flooded all kinds of report.
Our experience broadened as a result.
You guided us to the path we should stay
Had challenged us that we won't go astray.
Aspects of life were not meant to be easy
Integrity, honour and dignity were bound in your duty,
