Hear the early morning shower
A sign of the summer fair
Quenching thirst of season's dryness
Of droughts and doubts refreshed.
Tears of the gloomy sky
Cascading from the clouds
Of nimbus in the stratosphere
Falling like manna in the air.
Peltings of rain may shy away
Like teardrops they run away
From the earth condemned by aridity
Of the land parched by southern severity.
Showers of this Monday morning pray
Blessings from above dispelling prey
Drenching a scalding memory
Of a scorching summer day!
