THE ORIGINAL VERSION
Each morning daylight spent
In the kingdom of my heart
Guarded with tender loving care
A sweet fertility retreat.
The king on the throne he ruled alone
The queen lip-tight by his side atone
The subjects paying a homage round
Waiting for the crown to groom and bloom.
My kingdom is known throughout the land
Deck with arches and rainbow rites
Flowing fountains and streams of grace;
Landscape of nature its beauty praise.
The beds of roses in courts parade
The pots of daisies curtsy and fade
Hanging ivies and jasmines spread
Ornaments of ferns and lilies breed.
The plots and rows of blooms displayed.
In amphtheatres and terraces of sunken frayed.
The shrubs are trimmed; grounds covered lace
Of thymes and tiny dainties glazed.
My kingdom is built in nature's plain;
Planned for calmness, peace and sweet serene.
Daily showers host its friendly guests
My crown coloured crimson, green and gold. ....
