She walked into the forest
Her bare feet damp with dew
She walked among the giant Oak
The Birch and Maple, too
She laid upon the leafy earth
And dreamed her dreams of you
The sun rose into the sky
Waking her with golden streams
The canopy sparkling above
The wind’s melody of leaves
You she saw, standing there
The one of all her dreams
A love kindled early on
But could it ever be
She needs you to hold her near
You need to be wild and free
Will love survive this odd pair
She a human, and you, the spirit of a tree
Having grown up in New England....I know well the sense of life one gets when walking in the woods...no matter how deep you go..no matter how far away the sounds of civilization grow...you always get the feeling that you are not alone....terrific imagery...brings up wonderful memories/
