Trying to feel out
The greenery rolled ahead,
The leaves that have been colored dead
And the heavens of blue
In their purest form.
If somehow
It could just come to me
Like a burst of light
In the blackest night.
Illuminate.
Heighten
My senses
Untighten
The laced up defenses
Caged around
Potential beauty.
But every pang of would be precision
Is weakened
Through filtered vision --
A redundant haze.
Shaded by my darkest fears,
Warped memories,
And insecurities of grey.
What I wouldn't give
To see the world
Through your eyes...
