Dearly Departed

I never wanted to get in your way...

I never wanted to paint shades of grey

Upon that vibrant path

And blur the lines for you today...

I wished to never aggravate

To never make

A situation so obscure

So that we have to aggregrate

Some bunch of situations and a cure.

For I am not a cancer

And though I have a lot of questions

I can fashion answers

To this lover's indigestion

If you only just... let me... let me...

Touch a hair strand

And assess the DNA inside

For hidden plans

To stipulate my being at your side...

But never mind... never mind...

I may not be the kind

To craft a fruitful hymn

About the trees...

That greenery

That makes the rest of us look slim

When next to it...

But what I lack in singing

I can more than make up for in flinging all these arrows to the sky...

Those dreamer hopes that pray it flies so high

It soon pierces the sun

And forces it to cry around us.

While we breathe relieving sighs that all this warmth has finally found us...

But no... no...

It's just no fun to say

For you already know the seven thousand ways

I bleed these metaphors on through the week

In hopes that someone finds my leak...

But please,

My dear departed...

Know that what we started

Shines forever...
