When her sunshine missed me
I came out and let her warm me crispy.
And when she kissed me
I swear I heard the clouds explode
In sweet catharsis.
How they bled their tears upon my soul
And saturated me
With all those fluid forecasts then foretold.
But soon the rain would stop.
Her lips would find another's.
And somewhere over the horizon blue
I can see the same precipitation my eyes always knew
Wetting foreign turf.
And giving birth
To fields of food
And flowered earths.
And though it still seems but a dream
I let my eyes rain coffee stains
Upon my lips
To stay awake...
