A Tree of Righteousness
November 7, 2011
I am a tree of righteousness, filled with the fruit of the Spirit
If you are hungry, come and eat.
The love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are all within your reach
When you have a desire for unadulterated, pure love
Take a bite of my fruit it’s sweeter than Hershey’s, Nestle’s or Dove
Or For a fleeting moment you feel a little sad and blue,
Don’t fret my friend, Let my fruit of joy comfort you.
After the noise of the crowd dies down,
Come, sit at my table, there is plenty of peace to go around.
Then if you ever need some time,
I have plenty of patience on my vine.
Indeed, you are welcome to eat my fruit,
Especially the kindness, it’s constant like the Lord’s there is no reproof.
The more you eat, the more will grow,
try some goodness, It is genuine, not just for show.
Like faithfulness it comes from the roots in my heart,
Eat it heartily, to trust completely from the start.
Say anger sparks from a hurt deep within,
It’s okay ‘cuz one taste of my gentleness and the anger is squashed so you won’t sin.
If you begin to wonder how to hold your tongue
Chew on my self-control, soak up its juice like a sponge.
The purpose of the seed was to produce good fruit
Don’t be shy let it nourish you.
