Valentines Day Fate
Valentine’s day is not all that it is cracked up to be
Society has put a price tag on it, which most cannot pay
Candy, cards, and oh so many sweet things
Who needs them anyway
Why not just show someone you love them
By doing something nice
Something from the heart costs no price
Then there are those who don’t have a valentine
No special someone to share that special day
How are they supposed to feel,
When they watch couples walk hand in hand along the way
It can be lonely, with no one by your side
I have for many years, such a rollercoaster ride
You wait by the phone, for that special someone to call
It is only Valentine’s day, after all
but hours go by and still you sit and wait
For such a horrible and sad valentine’s day fate
