It still stings deep inside,

Remembering those warm august nights

When we were linked, arm in arm, hand in hand

And I thought forever by your side, I would always stand

As we both have seen, things can quickly change,

Like a flashing light, they pass right before our eyes

And we can be strong and stand tall,

Or we can breakdown and endlessly cry



It still hurts me way deep down

Knowing what I know, but not knowing till now

If only I would have known then, maybe we’d be safe

And I wouldn’t have to go without you for one single day

But the end had to find us, we couldn’t run if we tried

So we must let go and let things happen the way they are meant to

Even though everyday continues to hurt,

And I am endlessly broken and deeply blue
