Ever had a dream or a passion, only to have it stomped all over?
Ever have it stomped on one too many times? Too many times to the point you no longer tell your dreams to a soul? I have countless times and that is why I write this to all of you.
When I was younger I had so many passions in life, the biggest being a singer. That is, until my family told me that I was awful. I kept dreaming of that passion of singing and I was in choir for six years. When I made it into the auditioned choir in my high school I felt so proud of myself for accomplishing something that no one believed I could do.
That time I was lucky, other times I gave up as a result. For example, my junior year of high school I wanted to try out for my schools dance team, but quit the audition because my family told me I could not do it. That stopped me straightaway and I always regret quitting.
We all have dreams, passions and goals. It is wrong when we get told we cannot do something because a lack of talent. In some cases the people that judge us, do it before they give us a chance.
My advice in all of this is: Don't give up. Don't listen to their critical words. If it is something that you want, go for it. The main key of success is hard work, so anything is possible.
Like with my singing passion, I worked hard for four years before I made it where I wanted to be, and for my dreams today I am working just as hard.
So go for your dreams, and be blessed.
