Take me back to when we first met

When we were not afraid to kiss the sun

Everything happened so fast,

I wish I could go back to when you were the one



Take me back to when we fell in love

Filling my heart so completely

My heart was able to heal when you were there

Can’t we go back where shared words were spoken so sweetly



Take me back to when we thought we would last forever

You belonged to me just as much as I belonged to you

We knew we would fly so high together

and now we have to try to fly alone and we are both so unsure that it is something we can do



Take me back to all of our golden dreams

You meant the world to me

Why did we have to let the world rip us at the seams

That is something we never could have forseen



Take me back to when love was all we needed

When love was strong enough to pull us through

Sure there were moments of darkness and sorrow

but our love could hold us through every tomorrow



Take me back to all those wonderful memories

Hold onto all the times you held me

If I can’t find a way back to you again

I will always remember what once had been
