For the way these
“so-called” Christians
Have represented You.
All those men and women
That killed unlike-minded
People in Your name
In their xenophobic Crusades.
I’m sorry for Hitler and the KKK
That misunderstood
Your message and murdered
Those who didn’t follow You
When our purpose all along
Was to draw them near to You
Not erase them from the earth.
I’m sorry that our churches
Are still filled with hypocrisy,
Jealousy, gossip, and narrow-mindedness
When all you displayed
Was acceptance, love,
Forgiveness and tolerance.
If it wasn’t for us ruining
Your message of undeserved salvation
Everyone across the entire globe
Would now be saved!
