I miss you most at
This time of year with
Reds and blushing pinks
Sprinkled all over
And the smell of
Flowers in the air.
Cupid shot his bow
Towards my heart
Long ago.
But I think the tip
Of his arrow must
Have been filled
With poison because
I’m paralyzed by
My love for you.
No amount
Of confections
Can melt my love.
This Valentine’s Day
I will remember
The love we expressed
On this very day
Just two years ago
With bitter memories.
Bitter spoonfuls of not
So semi-sweet chocolate
In the root of my mouth.
