Society We are not perfect.
Our surface is covered
With grainy textures:
Evidence that we have
Grown stunted or crooked.
But with skill and creativity,
We can still be put to use
With some careful cutting
And diligent sanding.
We can become
The supports of a home,
The furniture within it, or
The sheet for a poet’s verse.
