Butterfly Effect (Rewrite)

Extended Metaphors You can’t trap butterflies in glass jars;
they were created to be free,
to fly where the wind takes them-
not to be confined and scrutinized.
You might be able to get them
to rest in your open palm for a while
(or to flutter around in your belly),
but invariably they will move on.
God designed their path so they were
exactly where they needed to be:
whether captured in a cocoon or
bringing joy to a disheartened person.
We should not disrupt God’s plan;
just be grateful when he allows
these marvelous creatures to grace
your life, even if only for a season.
