Spiritual I say that my reason
For avoiding you
Is that I'm much too stuck
In my sinful ways.
But the truth is
I can't understand
the meaning of grace.
How you would forgive me
Despite all I've done
Against you.
I deserve all the pain
I experience,
I earned it when I denied you.
I can't expect you
To look past that
And accept me as I am.
Can I?
