the toppling factor
in a sequence of dominoes,
the first link that sets off
a chain reaction.
A predisposed participant,
but not consumed
by the reaction I accelerated
as I spur transformations
but remain unchanged.
I am the mechanism
that excites change,
but looking back I realize
I had little effect
on their actions.
I was only the force
to nudge events into
motion that would
have eventually transpired
without my presence.
