though Incompetence
always interceded
as if Failure intended
to make his name known
no matter how hard I tried
to avoid him.
Like he still had something
to tell me as I moved
further and further away
because with each visit
I somehow learned
that Success was found
not in attaining goals
but in rising above
our insufficiencies.
