rapture on

sandy shorelines

as you looked out

over promising horizons,



until simplicity

was engulfed

in whirlpools

of responsibility

and smiles

washed away

into oblivion.



Hardships

were woven together-

tiny grains

commingled

until they became

insurmountable dunes-

when complexity

reached

its climax.



Shadowed silhouettes

disappeared under

murky waterfalls

as you drowned in

half-emptiness.
