Mind:
An idea born in the unconscious
as creativity slept until awoken,
a metaphor conceived that defies
reason to all except the artist,
becomes the juxtaposition of
logic and emotion into one form.
Body:
A face concealed behind masks
of ambiguity and abstraction,
a layer of skin contouring to
the shape of the life revealed,
off it walks from the comfort
of the poet’s being for scrutiny.
Soul:
Poets breathe their unique spirit
into every work of art painted;
they rely on a belief that in
exposing themselves they will be
deemed worthy enough to continue
the search for their true identity.
