A smooth scrap of paper
takes three-dimensions
but only when keen hands
shape it into being.
The process not perfected
yet as torn edges mark where
mistakes were made but
folded over, hidden from view.
The corners are bent inwards,
removing their jagged edges
from cutting the fingers of
those apt at making it into art.
Once the design is complete,
it is marveled over, that is,
until it falls underfoot
only to be flattened thin again.
